  • Our trusted source for shrimp is Del Pacifico Seafoods — founded in 2014 with the mission to produce the world’s highest quality shrimp using the most sustainable methods of harvest and processing that exist today.

They work in close collaboration with artisanal fishermen and offer them a fair chance to compete in the global seafood market, mostly dominated by industrial fishing. The collaboration between Del Pacifico and these cooperatives has allowed them to promote sustainable fishing practices and to bring the world’s best shrimp to new markets.

In 2016 they became the first shrimp company in the world to receive Fair Trade Certification after meeting all requirements relating to labor, trade and responsible environmental practices.

Frozen vs. Fresh: Freezing seafood properly like we do ensures the quality of our product better than the majority of fresh seafood out there. Most “fresh” fish you will find is frozen at some point. Our seafood is flash frozen shortly after catch, when the product is at peak freshness. This not only locks in flavor and nutrients, but ensures the highest quality product possible.

Storing Information: As soon as your order arrives, place your seafood in the refrigerator for use within 2-3 days or freeze for later use. Do not refreeze after thawing.

  • Thawing: Place packaged shrimp in refrigerator overnight; or quick thaw by placing shrimp in a strainer and running cold water over them for about 5 minutes. Make sure you toss them occasionally to make sure they are all exposed to the cold water. Thawed shrimp should be consumed within 2 days.r.

Pan Seared (Recommended): Thaw shrimp. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a sauce pan on medium-high heat. When hot add the shrimp to the pan. They should sizzle on contact. Stir the shrimp occasionally until the flesh is pink and you don’t see any more grey bits in the shrimp. The tails should turn bright red. Cooking should take between 4 and 5 minutes and you should reach an internal temperature of 120ºF.

Boiled: Thaw shrimp. Add garlic, salt, pepper and a bay leaf to a large sauce pan. Add 8 cups of water and bring to boil over medium-high heat. Once the water boils reduce heat to a simmer and add shrimp. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until shrimp turns pink. Once cooked drain the shrimp and transfer them to cold water to stop the cooking. Broiled: Thaw shrimp. Turn on broiler and put rack close to the heat. Coat thawed shrimp in olive oil, salt and pepper and place on a baking sheet making sure shrimp aren’t touching each other. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until you reach an internal temperature of 120ºF.
