Serving Instructions

Your snow crab leg meat is fully cooked and ready to eat cold, after thawing.

To Serve Cold:

  1. Arrange the thawed crab leg meat on a serving platter or in cocktail glasses.

  2. (Optional) Add crushed or shaved ice to the platter before arranging the crab.

  3. For an elegant seafood platter, consider adding snow crab cocktail claws, lobster tails, lobster meat, and shrimp.

  4. Serve with cocktail sauce and lemon wedges, and Crab Blend Butter.

To Serve Warm:

Enjoy your crab meat with our Chesapeake Bay Butter & Garlic Seasoning.

Warm Butter Preparation:

  1. Melt 8 oz (1 block) of Chesapeake Bay Butter (or your own unsalted butter) in a large frying pan over medium heat.

  2. Stir in 2 tbsp of Crab Blend Seasoning until fully combined.

  3. (Optional) Enhance the butter by adding:

    • 1 white onion, diced

    • 8 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1/2 lemon, juiced

    • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar

    • Hot sauce and salt to taste

  4. If adding the optional ingredients, simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft.

  5. Remove the pan from heat completely.

  6. Add 1lb of thawed snow crab leg meat to the warm butter. (you can add more crab to fill the pan if you desire).

  7. Spoon the butter over the crab to coat evenly.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve directly from the pan or transfer to a serving dish.

  • Pair with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce.

  • For a seafood boil preparation, pour the buttered crab over boiled potatoes, corn, and cajun sausage.

⚠ Important Notes:

  • Do Not Overcook: The crab is already fully cooked, so you’re just warming it. Remove the butter from heat before adding the crab meat.

  • Serve Immediately: Enjoy the crab as soon as it’s warmed for the best texture and flavor.

Storage and Consumption:

Keep the thawed or cooked crab meat refrigerated at 40°F (4°C) and consume it within 2-3 days. Do not refreeze after thawing.
