Cooking Guide: Lobster Tail Meat

Note: Our packages contain 2lbs of premium lobster tail meat. For these recipes, we'll focus on preparing a generous serving for 2lbs of lobster tail meat.

Thawing Instructions:

For the best experience in taste and texture, we advocate for a gradual thawing approach. Here's how:

  1. Place the lobster tail meat in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours to thaw slowly.
  2. After thawing, ensure to drain any excess liquid from the package.
  3. If you decide not to use all the lobster tails at once, you can save them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days post-thawing.
  4. Keep the lobster meat refrigerated (at 40°F) and plan to consume it within the recommended time for optimum freshness.

Cooking Methods:

Warming Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Lobster: After thawing, carefully cut the lobster tails in half lengthwise. This allows for more even cooking and easier eating.
  2. Prepare the Butter: In a large pan, heat 4 tablespoons of our Chesapeake Bay butter (or a salted butter of your choice) over medium heat until melted.
  3. Cook the Lobster: Once the butter is fully melted and slightly bubbling, turn off the heat and add the halves of lobster tail meat to the pan, ensuring they are evenly spaced. You can flip the tails to evenly coat and warm in the butter. If the lobster tails don't fit in one batch, feel free to cook them in two batches to ensure they're well-coated.
  4. Serve Warm: Serve the lobster directly from the pan or transfer it to a serving plate. Accompany with Clarified Chesapeake Bay Butter or your choice of sauce and lemon wedges.

Enjoy your perfectly prepared lobster tail meat, whether you prefer it indulgently warm or refreshingly cold, and remember that the key to a rich flavor is using our Chesapeake Bay butter.
